Art - Poster and Start on Magazine Spread

In art I've been working on my poster which is focused around a sort of noodle shop. I had to change a few things since my previous theme was around a asian-inspired logo design company, but now it is a asian noodle shop. I had use same colour palette as it fits but it kind of forces me to work with a more modern approach. I also wanted it stand out from others which I found quite difficult.

Here are all my different designs for my poster. I tried to go for a somewhat minimal approach which I kind of liked but I found it really hard to develop it in a 'more is less' way. Overall I do like my final poster design which is in the very bottom right; as it conveys the message while having a logo to allow us to be identified by the viewers. I do want to work on it a bit more but I'm working on a magazine spread just to have a change of pace instead of being stuck on the same thing.

As of now the magazine spread feels a bit too bland. I want to develop it in a way that it doesn't feel too different from my poster design to keep the consistency. My poster also uses quite a lot of white space which is something I try doing here while having the necessary information you would see in a magazine spread.

Art - Portfolio Update

 Hello Everybody, In art, we have been working on our portfolios. Recently I had changed up my brief a bit, and it's quite a significant change as well. Initially, I was designing my works around a graphic type of design company, but now it's somehow a noodle shop. I did enjoy this change though as it allowed me to expand my knowledge and come up with some new designs I did enjoy.

Art - Update but Lockdown

 Ever since lockdown happened it has been difficult to be able to work effectively. For now I would like to post an update on my art work and I will be doing in the future.

Currently my design for my logo has been in a good spot and I would like to improve it but as of now Im satisfied with it.

Right now I'm taking time to develop my poster which I will achieve by doing some sketches on a notebook or any sort of thing I can draw in. However, I do have some early concepts in my google drive.

Right now it isn't much but I plan to develop it into something better.

English - Connections

 In English, we've been researching numerous amount of texts that relate to consciousness and how they relate to one another. We created some sort of chart where similar ideas connect to each other in these texts

Art - Updated Moodboard

 Recently in Art, we decided to remake our mood board. We found a better tool to use that'll enhance the appeal of our already existing mood board as it was made on a limited tool like google drawings. 

The tool we used was Canva which offered many layout options to choose from.

Art - Sequence and Series

 Today in Art class we are analyzing series and sequences. We looked at examples of other people's portfolio's and see how they used series and sequences. The example bellow was an excellence grade portfolio.

After analyzing I believe series and sequences is basically keeping your design constant throughout by using the same features over and over but still making them unique. This could mean using the same colour pattern's, shapes, logos, fonts, and more. 

Art - Personal Description on Josef Muller Brockmann

 Recently in Art we have been researching artists from the past and the present then writing about them. For me I researched a traditional artist known by Josef Muller Brockmann and then wrote about my view on one of his works.

Art - Design - Update on my Work

 This is now the 6th week of school and a lot of things had happened since. Anyway since this is art blog post I'll be updating on what things we have done for the past weeks.

Near the beginning we made our colours and then cut shapes out of them to make 6 different designs with my shapes and colours.

We also learnt about negative space on what it means and how it can impact our work. Negative space is the space around your work. It usually is the space that isn't used to create additional meaning/work.

We then uploaded our designs to the computers so we can work on them using Adobe Illustrator. Adobe Illustrator was confusing as I was using it for the first time but I've got more comfortable with it now.

Using Adobe Illustrator we played around with our shapes and try to make even more designs and then develop on them. Since I had pretty basic shapes it was kind of hard for me to make complicated designs so I had the idea to base my work kind of on
the art movement minimalism.

Now at the present I'm creating/thinking of ideas for my company name and purpose. I decided to stick with the name Sed Consilio for now. This means Contrast Designs in Latin but I'll probably change it in the future as I may want to work on different approach to my work.

Art - Digital Moodboard - Design (Cityscape)

This is Year 12 Art. This is my first time actually taking an art class since year 9. For the first week we have been researching different types of art. I wanted to do art design. 

What we did was we looked at different types of artist and researched the type we want, and what I picked was a cityscape type of design artist.

I picked cityscape because that was the one that stood out to me the most. It stood out because I wanted to see what kind of building or interior of buildings I could draw.
